Cancellation due to Corona Virus

In response to the news around Corona Virus (COVID-19) and the measures we have all been asked to take by the government and their medical advisers the Committee have taken the decision to cancel Cosby Quilters monthly meetings for the time being.  There will be no meeting in April 01/04 or May 06/05, and the Gail Lawther workshop, scheduled for 31/03 is also cancelled. 

We will continue to monitor the situation and keep in touch with any updates via email and this blogspot.

Hopefully it will not be too long before we can return to the exciting 2020 program we had planned.  In the meantime, should you be looking for something to do (and reduce your stash), then this may be the ideal opportunity to begin work some of the longer term projects we have initiated:

For those who knit or crochet - There's Cosby Yarn Bombing - Jungle Book theme, so we are looking for leaves, jungle plants and animals.  Sue Wilson is co-ordinating this, please contact Sue  on 0116 2863832 or 07840 204543.

The Big Textile Show is at the end of October - now might be a good time to work on a piece to display on the stand, (large or small), so that we can showcase our good work to the general public.

     Cosby Quilters Banner - many of you have committed to produce a small (A5 + 1 inch border all around) flower panel for this.  If anyone else is interested, the orientation of the piece must be portrait and please ensure that the design remains within the A5 space as when the pieces are joined together the design will be cut off if there is any overlap.  If you are going to embroider your flower/s do remember to put a stabiliser on the back, so that the size of the piece remains the same.
