WHOOPS.....................
NEARLY MISSED THIS ONE...............
We had a great final meeting to 2012.
Jennie Almond came along and showed us a selection of her beautiful quilts, and she also told stories of her quilting adventures.
just one of the many quilts which Jenny brought along
We had the usual amazing faith supper - amazing that we have such a variety and quantity of food - and amazing that it doesn't all get eaten up there and then!
The raffle was our Big One, with extra prizes, and we raised a fair sum of money to go to Intercare.(more of that in a later blog)
We also had a draw for members. A beautiful quilt was the prize, made by the late Janet Beet, and finished by committee members. This was won by Alison Caputo, and she was clearly quite delighted.
We had a special guest for the evening, who came courtesy of Leicester City Council.
She wandered up (or maybe even flew) from Town Hall Square, to join our Christmas Party. She looked a bit battered, but recovered sufficiently after a few glasses of Bucks Fizz, and regaled us with a brief poem, along the lines of how she got too fat to go on a normal sized Christmas tree. Hence the only tree she could top, was the one in the centre of Leicester....
We have tried to send her a thank you message, but could not contact her. We understand she was last seen heading north in search Rosemary Conley, to get advice on how to become a sleeker fairy for next Christmas.
A GOOD TIME WAS HAD BY ALL, THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS
