Our meeting on 2nd March was certainly a feast for the eyes.
Contemporary quilt artist, Greta Fitchett, showed and explained her intricate designs on quilts and wall hangings inspired by her travels around the world.
Most were full of detail and as the title of her talk indicated "inspired by colour" and vibrant in colour. Many were densely quilted.
Many places had inspired her from Japan to Cologne and Morocco to Hong Kong. Reflections were also a particular interest. Each quilt had a story and we learnt of her design and planning process often assisted by photographs she took herself.
