Carolyn Forster used many of her quilts to illustrate her "quilting journey". Like many of us, her love of sewing developed from childhood stitching. She explained the development of her own methods with the help of humerously described examples on her early quilts.
Carolyn was approachable, practical and entertaining.
She moved on to her textile training, teaching and writing books and was particularly enthusiastic about Utility/Big Stitch quilting - her books are well worth a look.
It was good to hear that she makes what she enjoys, not producing work for sale or competition. Surely this rings true with many of us as well!
